Facebook

Just as Instagram, Facebook reels will also show the reels your friends are liking and interacting with.

Instagram

You can now control your algorithm. Instagram is testing a new curated feed that lets you choose what appears on your Explore page and users are already weighing in on its pros and cons.

Pros:
This is a big win for content creators and small businesses, as it means your content will reach people who are genuinely interested in it. Better views, better engagement, and potentially, more conversions. You can also curate your feed to see exactly what you want and weed out unnecessary content, especially useful for parents looking to manage what their kids see online.

Cons:
Many users have expressed concern about having an even more isolated experience. Seeing only what you want could create a sense of disconnection from real-world issues and diverse perspectives, essentially, trapping users inside their own bubble.

On another note, Instagram has also fixed the recent story reach bug. Users had reported a dip in reach when posting multiple stories in a day, but Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram, confirmed that the issue has now been resolved. Creators will no longer be penalised for posting frequently.
